Unique Ways To Say, "Will You Marry Me?"
You want your marriage proposal to be a memory to last a lifetime. You want it to be romantic, unique, creative and a one-of-a-kind experience. There have been hundreds and thousands of ways to propose but it’s the unusual and over-the-top proposals we all love to hear about. We have seen many ‘will you marry me’ banners shooting across the sky or on the jumbotron at sporting events or the ole’ waiter hiding the engagement ring in a dessert trick or in a champagne glass while dining in a fancy restaurant, but these are now so common that they are considered the norm. It’s getting harder and harder to come up with ideas that will totally surprise and shock the bride-to-be, but here are a couple of ideas we have come across that might be interesting...
The On-Line Proposal
Jeff and Sandy were old school chums from years ago and had not been in touch with each other since Grade 8. They recently connected again when they found each other on Facebook. They communicated through Facebook getting know each other once again and
were surprised to learn that neither had married. After a month or so, they decided to finally meet in person. When they met, the sparks ignited. Jeff immediately knew that Sandy would one day be his wife. “You just know when it’s right” says Jeff “from the moment I saw Sandy again, I knew she was the one”.
As the first anniversary of their reunion approached, Jeff decided he was going to propose. “I thought I would go back to where we found each other again” Jeff gushes. “That’s when I got the idea of proposing on a YouTube video that I could post on her Facebook page. It was fantastic. Sandy loved it and we are getting married next summer!” The video was great, not only is it something they could watch again anytime in the years to come, but all their family and friends got to see first hand how Jeff popped the question!
Your Knight in Shining Armour
This one will take a little planning, that’s for sure but definitely a memory not to be forgotten.
It includes renting a knight’s costume and making some prior arrangements at the venue you choose. Arrange for an outing to either a restaurant or bar, it could be just you and your girl or a group of your friends. At some point during the evening, slip away, get into the knight’s costume and return to the table as her ‘Knight In Shining Armour’, bend down on one knee & propose!
The Mile High Proposal
Kyle made all the arrangements for a weekend getaway to New York for himself and his girlfriend, Jessica. For the flight, he pre-arranged seat selection and ensured that he was sitting at the back of the plane and his girlfriend at the front advising her that these were the only available seats.
During the flight, Kyle talked to the passengers around him telling them he was going to propose on the flight and needed their help.
Every few minutes, passengers would go up to the front of the plane and give Jessica a card and a white rose. On the first card it said, "Chinese” on the front and the back had something written in Chinese. Then, another passenger came by and handed her another card with "German," on one side and something in German written on the back. This continued for at least 20 minutes, with cards coming in all different languages. “I didn’t know what to think” says Jessica. Ít wasn’t until Kyle came to my seat, dropped to his knees with his card, in English, and it read “Will You Marry Me?”.
Confucius Say..."Will You Marry Me?"
It might sound a little hokey, but always it’s simple and a long-time favourite.
If you and your gal enjoy Chinese food you can have the question “will you marry me?” encased in a fortune cookie. When she opens it and reads the message, have the diamond ring ready to give her. You of course would have to make prior arrangements at the Chinese restaurant but easily done as you will find all will want to join in to help on this very special moment for couples.
