Why did you choose to become a Destination Wedding Specialist?
After planning several weddings, I found I really enjoyed it and decided that I wanted to use my consulting skills and travel knowledge to help couples choose the best destination for their wedding or honeymoon. It has been a very rewarding experience to be involved in the planning process.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
I have really enjoyed getting to know both the wedding couples and their families and friends. It's also very gratifying to see them again when they return to plan vacations with their children!
Which destination is your favorite and why?
There are so many great locations that it's often a matter of choosing the right destination to fulfill the couple's requirements. The Mayan Riviera is a favorite as it offers so much. Romantic beaches, beautiful tropical gardens, well experienced resort wedding planners and a great variety of wedding venues. For honeymooners or those wanting to renew their vows there are numerous lovely resorts that cater to adults only.
Do you have a quick tip for us?
Plan early. Most resorts do a limited number of weddings per day and you want to be able to choose your date, time and venue. And, finally, choose an agent you have confidence in, someone who is going to be there for you in the ensuing months after you have made your choices!
