How long have you been planning destination weddings?
I have been in the travel industry for the past 21 years, for the last year I have completely dedicated my time to become a destination wedding specialist.
Why did you choose to become a Destination Wedding Specialist?
I didn’t find this niche, it found me and once I dedicated myself to this new specialty.
I enjoy making someone’s dream wedding come true, it is truly fun and exciting.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
Seeing the photographs on their return and how wonderful their day was, knowing that I helped create those moments.
Which destination is your favorite and why?
So far Maui, this is truly paradise to me but there are so many more places to visit so this could change soon.
Do you have a wedding story you would like to share with us?
Let me share my own personal white wedding destination experience. I was living in the UK at the time and married in Banff. One month prior to departure, the hotel decided to renovate and I needed to move my hotel, with my access and knowledge in the industry I was able to pull this wedding together where it could have failed. These are the kind of issues I want to help my bride’s with so their day was as special as mine.
Do you have a quick tip for us?
www.Pinterest.com, a fabulous website that allows you to keep track of your ideas and any inspirations you find for your wedding day on line, by creating a pin board.
Brides and grooms should definitely check this out, it will help them with their wedding themes and allow them to show their wedding onsite coordinator what they want. For them to be able to show it instead of describing it is priceless and your much more likely to get what you want.
