How long have you been planning destination weddings?
Direct Travel & Cruise Centre has been selling wedding and honeymoon packages since its inception in 1961. We are proud of our affiliation with planners throughout the world. I am happy to have joined the Direct Travel team and I look forward to continuing to plan weddings and honeymoons.
Why did you choose to become a Destination Wedding Specialist?
I enjoy planning holidays of any sort, but weddings in particular as they allow me to be a part of something that is so special.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
Helping couples plan their perfect wedding and seeing the results as their family and friends make their bookings.
Which destination is your favorite and why?
Waikiki – There is something for everyone on Oahu. You can be busy touring the Island, or have a relaxing holiday on the beach, or a combination of both!
Do you have a wedding story you’d like to share with us?
The wedding I am currently working on – I was meeting a friend for lunch and she asked if she could bring along a co-worker she was training. Towards the end of lunch, the co-worker mentioned she was trying to find information on a wedding in Maya Riviera but was not having much luck talking to “some guy on the internet” as some of the guests were travelling from Alberta and some from Newfoundland. I asked her to give me the details, and within a couple of weeks we had flights and hotel booked for a group of 46.
Do you have a quick tip for us?
Narrow down a destination and although it is important to consider details such as financial costs for your guests, the most important thing is that it is the bride and groom’s special day and they must be happy with the final details.
