How long have you been planning destination weddings?
I can remember that as early as I was 15 years old, I was planning a destination wedding...but with a twist...I was starting at the very beginning...matchmaking the unknowing, soon to be happy couple, while we were all on vacation...what can I say, I’m a hopeless romantic. Seriously though, I’ve been professionally planning destination weddings for the last 14 years...and I’m still a hopeless romantic.
Why did you choose to become a Destination Wedding Specialist?
Need I say more...I’m a hopeless romantic, remember...and there is nothing more romantic than getting married at sunset with the waves lapping at your feet and a warm salty breeze on your lips...before your partner’s lips that is.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
The favourite part of my job is to help make someone else’s dream come true and being able to relive with the bride and groom, the memories that a successful destination wedding brings.
Which destination is your favorite and why?
One of my favourite destinations is the Mayan Riviera, especially for a destination wedding...with so many individual tastes coming into play for a destination wedding, I find a large variety of choices both in accommodations and destination activities, help make more enjoyable memories in celebration of a special wedding.
What’s the most exotic location that you’ve planned a wedding in?
The most exotic location that I’ve planned a wedding in was Cuba...doesn’t sound exotic... well it was a challenging double wedding...the challenges made it feel exotic!
What’s your personal philosophy on love?
Love makes the world go round and round and round...
Do you have a story you’d like to share with us?
Majority of the brides and grooms that I booked as a destination wedding couple are still booking their vacations with me to this day, but now as families...I find this very, very rewarding...to help create their families’ memories now.
Do you have a quick tip for us?
Try not to stress the small things...it will make for a great story to tell your grandchildren...if nothing else.
