Adventure Weddings

Some may say that being in love is an adventure in itself but for some couples, adventure is part of their life and something they definitely want to include in their wedding ceremony. For those adrenaline-pumping thrill seekers, here's a few suggestions that might tip the adventure scale in a big way.

Underwater is another type of destination wedding that is popular with couples 'taking the plunge', especially diving fanatics and you can p_weddingretty much find this type of wedding all over the world - Thailand, Caribbean, Indonesia, Israel, South America, US just to name a few. How awesome would it be to get married in Australia's Great Barrier Reef or surrounded by tropical fish and coral in the Maldives?

You won't need the traditional wedding necessities like a gown or veil, but will need scuba gear, a boat and special masks to say your vows. Most companies offering this type of wedding will either include all you need in a package or you will be able to rent them. Although you may think this type of ceremony is for certified divers, most companies will also offer to non-divers and will include some scuba training classes prior to the wedding day.

Skydiving Wedding

It all began in 1940 at the World's Fair in New York City, with the first parachute wedding and since then, many couples have married in the air.

Is your adrenaline pumping yet? Couples may opt to have a ceremony on the ground before or after the jump so family and friends can attend or may choose a more intimate setting with a 'skydiving preacher' onboard the plane who will perform the ceremony just before you jump.

The ceremony begins on the jump deck 50 metres above the ground with your family and guests present. After you say your vows to each other and the bride is kissed, the couple then bungees off the deck together as husband and wife.
